This week, May 4-8, is National Teacher Appreciation week. What a great opportunity to honor those who give of their time and talents for the betterment of our children. I have spent several years periodically volunteering in my childrens’ classrooms. After an hour, I’m exhausted! I don’t know how teachers make it through the day. They are saints and what a great week to tell them thanks!
Below are some ideas to help make their week special:
Here are a few general ideas:
*take them coffee or a muffin
*have your child take in flowers
*buy them a gift card to a local teacher supply store
*organize a “Teacher Appreciation cart” at your child’s school. Have parents donated fresh fruit, cookies, brownies and small bags of chips. Have a few volunteers take the cart to each teacher’s room on a designated day and let them pick what they want!
*take them a few donuts with a note attached reading “Donut forget how much you are appreciated”!
*Pray for them

I once heard someone say that giving does more for the heart of the giver than the receiver. I completely agree.
